Once upon a time, not long ago (actually it was '96), it all started in a kitchen on Houston Street in NYC.
Brooklyn born, D.C. (aka Ba'ho Heh'fe) cooked up the idea to make the first underwear brand to successfully cater to the youth subcultures, whether they be skaters, club kids, surfers, cosplayers or people with too much style for their own good. There, he changed the game as being known for starting the first company to make low-rise panties since the '60’s and the first company to screen-print panties...the underwear business has never been the same since.
When D.C. created Undergirl, he wanted to change a market where mega companies were manufacturing boring mass-market underwear by giving the industry some New York flavor without sacrificing an inch on quality. By infusing iconography fueled by the streets of New York, Undergirl has turned the underwear business on its rear end. Undergirl has successfully crossed all market boundaries by being sold in high-end boutiques, lingerie stores, department stores and even tattoo parlors.
With many accomplishments under the company's belt, such as being the first lingerie company to grace the runways of The New York Collections, and having distribution in over twenty countries, the business is evolving from an inner wear brand to lifestyle brand.
Without a doubt, the press has played a large part in Undergirl's success, with coverage ranging from Fashion Television, MTV, and CNN, with product making an appearance on popular sitcoms on ABC, FOX and NBC, to being featured in internationally acclaimed publications such as Forbes, British Vogue, Seventeen, Interview,
and many more.
Another major force is seeing Undergirl and Underboss product worn on entertainers such as Fiona Apple, Christina Aguilera and Miley Cyrus. For our men’s line, the company is represented by none other than Eminem and Tyler the Creator.
After many years of doing their own thing, in the last four years, Undergirl and Underboss have collaborated with some of the biggest entertainment properties out there, working with such studios as Warner Bros, 20th Century Fox and Live Nation.
You can find Undergirl and Underboss at fine stores everywhere such as DollsKill.com, Urban Outfitters, Hot Topic, Think Geek and Spencer’s and more.
